1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
I love to sings songs of testimony. Songs that tell others of the great and marvelous things that God has done for me. It seems so often though that we forget the phrase, “an holy nation.” The grace and mercy of God are such beautiful things who could help but to sing about these attributes. I believe that there is something even more deeply meaningful; the holiness of God. To sing about the holiness of God is to lift up His name in the most purest form of worship. The holiness of God is self containing, there is no human pride while sounding forth praise of God’s holiness.
I do not desire my testimony to be a sin ridden life full of continual fall, and stumbling. The testimony of my life should be one that reflects the holiness and righteousness of God. We have no righteousness or holiness of ourselves, only through the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I encourage every believer to always remember the holiness of the God when we reverence His name in song.
