Phil 2:10,11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
To me there is nothing greater than singing about the name of Jesus. As a musician it seems that no word falls sweeter from the lips than the name of Christ. Thousands upon thousands of songs have been written about Jesus, and yet as the hymn-writer states, “nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.” I would encourage any singer or musician when choosing a song, to choose one that lifts up the name of Jesus. Nothing speaks more deeply to the heart of the saints and pierces deeper into the soul of the lost than the name of Jesus. One day soon as one mighty choir we will all cry out, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain!” I think Mr. Gaither had it right when he penned the words “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name.”
